1. If I were to attend a Halloween party, my costume would be something cat-related, most likely. It's what everyone would expect of me!

2. On Halloween, I plan to stay home and watch a scary movie with Mudpie on my lap.

3. If my life were a scary movie, it would be titled You'd Better Stay in Bed.

4. If I found an ouija board, I would not mess around with it.

Thank you for joining us for this month's edition of the Pet Photo Fails Blog Hop! Can you believe we're already at the end of October? In less than two months even Christmas will be over. If only the hot, yucky summer months went by as fast as the fall months do!

My blooper this month was taken the night I hopped up into the rocking chair to check out Mommy's display of Halloween stuffies and pillows. Since it seems like everybody in the world has been checking out my tushie lately, I thought maybe the cat o'lantern might want a closer look too. He doesn't look very impressed.

I guess I was being pretty rude, huh?

This would've been a Wordless Wednesday post except I need to explain where I am and what I was doing.

I'm on a table next to the couch, the same table I patiently wait for my squeezies on. Mommy cracked up over how I was waiting on this particular day, with my arm draped across her coffee mug, just chilling out. She was shocked that she was able to snap a picture before I moved!

1. I may pull out the remnants of my vegetable garden this weekend, but I probably won't be able to because rain is in the forecast.

Today we're celebrating Tocktober, a day to admire adorable little kitty tushies in honor of our dear friend Derby.

This picture was taken a few years ago, late at night after Mommy said it was time for bed. I decided I would rather sort through my toy collection (the overflow of my toy box resides in a Target bag) and look for something different to play with first.

Thankfully my tushie is pretty adorbs...but I can't believe Mommy didn't even cover up the naughty bits!!! (As you know, a few weeks ago I got a "sanitary shave" down there following my anal gland trouble. Those tock pictures will never see the light of day!)

1. Before winter arrives, I need to stock up on furnace filters. 

2. Last week's episode of When Calls the Heart was a shocker. Anyone else a fan of the show? I never thought Elizabeth and Lucas were a good match but I was still sad and surprised to see her break their engagement.

3. Only 4 weeks until our Christmas tree goes up.

4. I was relieved to find out squeezies are now well-stocked on store shelves. I remember many times during COVID when my favorite treat was hard to find!

Saying Goodbye to Two Blogging Legends

Back when I arrived at my forever home, TW (The Woman) and CK (Cathy Keisha) of the Stunning Keisha blog nicknamed me MP. We thought it was super cute and every now and then Mommy even types that instead of my full name.

In spite of being as different as night and day in everything from music to politics, Mommy and TW became fast friends in the vast pet blogosphere, as did ghetto kitteh CK & this angelic little tortie.

Most of you have heard the news that TW, Pattie Kleinke, lost her brave battle with cancer on Friday. Even though we knew how sick she was, her loss was still a gut punch. We're sending loads of purrs and prayers to her beloved CK and brother Fred. We can only imagine how much they're hurting right now, and we want to surround them with the love of the cat blogging community.

Pattie was a wonderful advocate for kitties and Fred, aka Pop, has asked that in lieu of flowers, please make a donation to a TNR or rescue in her name. The many #nipclub anipals on X (formerly known as Twitter) have set up a GoFundMe for Pattie’s favorite rescue The Lucky Cat Rescue. CK was a long time D.J. for #nipclub events, spinning favorite tunes at #NipClub events for all to enjoy. A couple of sets on October 28th will be dedicated to Pattie. Give if you can, share if you can’t please.

Then yesterday came the heartbreaking news that Brian of Brian's Home blog was needed at the Rainbow Bridge. Their new blog header stating Brian is Home, Forever, instantly brought us to tears.

A pair of blogging legends, silenced. It's almost too much for the heart to bear.

Nobody Here But Us Halloween Decorations #SundaySelfie

This week has been all about decorating for Halloween at our house. I even decided to take my Sunday Selfie from this rocking chair that Mommy is using for her Halloween pillow and Day of the Dead stuffies.

This is actually the first time Mommy has used this particular chair in her decorating. It's usually a "catch all" for things that need to be distributed elsewhere in the house. She wondered how long it would take for me to notice what was in the chair, and I hopped up there the very first evening.

I haven't gone back though. She needs to put a blankie in the chair too!

1. I no longer feel the need to clean up the leaves in my yard. I used to either rake them up or mow over them but last fall I didn't do a thing. Come spring I did a quick mow over them them first time I mowed the lawn, and by summer you'd never know the leaves had stayed on the ground all winter.

2. My October list of things to do includes fall cleaning and scouring the stores for new Christmas decorations.

3. I'm proud of myself for being such a brave girl at the vet recently. Mommy is super proud of me too! 

4. I plan to take Glandex in order to improve my anal gland health. Mommy got some for me at PetSmart this week and has been putting it in my squeezie once a day. So far I like it! 

Feline Friday Flashback: The Haunted KatKabin

Seven years ago Mommy hung this little ghostie on my beloved KatKabin. I was looking at him a little suspiciously, but I did enjoy bopping him every now and then.

Allllllll these years later, would you believe he's still there? He's not as white as he used to be. He's actually covered in quite a bit of my fur after years of my brushing past him to get inside. He still has that cute smile on his face though!

A Little Light Reading

On a recent Saturday afternoon I curled up on the couch with a little light reading - a printout of my recent blood work and our copy of the latest edition of Catster magazine.

But try as I might, I just couldn't keep my eyes open and concentrate, so before long I stretched out for a looooooooooooooong nap.

Mommy might have joined me. Can you blame her?

We wanted to give everyone an update on my yucky medical issues from last weekend.

I've been feeling fine, but for most of the week my bottom kept draining. (TMI, I know...) Mommy sent a couple pictures to my vet but on Thursday she took me in for a recheck to make sure it was healing the way it should.

The good news...it is. The bad news...the vet told Mommy to keep an eye on my right gland because that one is getting impacted too. So chances are I'll have to go through this again very soon.

While I was at the vet I got a "sanitary trim" down there because I had so much of the drainage fluid stuck to my pantaloons.

Would you believe Mommy has THREE pictures of my tushie on her iPad? Two are from during the week as she kept the vet updated on my progress, but then she took another one when I got back from my recheck because she wanted documentation of what it looked like right after the vet had seen it, just in case she noticed any changes. And in that one my bottom is NAKEY!!!

I'm warning you, Mommy. Those pictures hadn't better EVER see the light of day! I already feel like most of the world has seen my buns. I'm so humiliated...
