Meows from Mudpie!
If you saw my photo fails on Friday, you might remember that I had to take care of a dirty face while snapping some selfies.
This is the look I was going for. Much better, wouldn't ya say?

Dirty Face #PetPhotoFails
Meows from Mudpie!
Thank you for joining us for this month's edition of the Pet Photo Fails Blog Hop! Can you believe we're already at the end of October? In less than two months even Christmas will be over. If only the hot, yucky summer months went by as fast as the fall months do!

My bloopers this month were taken while Mommy was trying to help me snap some selfies and I suddenly realized my face was dirty! Mommy calls them photo fails...I call it wanting to make sure I always look my best!
Those are my bloopers...let's see yours!

National Horror Movie Day
Meows from Mudpie!
Did you know today is National Horror Movie Day? Mommy's all-time favorite movie (horror or otherwise) is Alfred Hitchcock's Psycho, and waaaaaay back in 2015, less than 2 months after I moved to my forever home, we re-created the movie's famous shower scene for a Caturday Art project.
This still cracks Mommy up nearly 10 years later, and I can't get over what an itty bitty Mudpie I was back then! Don't worry, there were no crazy people with knives in the tub with me, but do you notice that I appear to be freaked out by something I'm looking at? I think Mommy may have been getting ready to take a bath and nakey at the time. (Tee hee...)
What's your favorite horror movie?

Fun Feline Finds for Halloween from Etsy
Meows from Mudpie!
This year Mommy got an early start and pulled out our Halloween decorations in late September! Even though she already has more than she could ever use she's always looking for more, and one of her favorite places to shop for Halloween goodies is Etsy. There are so many creative people out there creating pawsome kitty items, and we thought we'd share some of our favorite finds (for both humans and cats) with you today!
We hope you enjoy our Halloween picks, and don't forget, if you find something here you like and make a purchase using our affiliate links, I get a little money for my piggy bank!

1. I take a nap with Mudpie when I feel overwhelmed.
2. My favorite streaming service is TBD. This is a very timely question because I just got my first Roku device last week! So far I'm loving the Garfield prime time specials I haven't seen since I was a child on Peacock, and making a list of tons of free content on Tubi I want to watch.
3. I try to help any animal in need when I can.
4. I could tell a scary story about riding in a car headed the wrong way into oncoming traffic in Montreal. (I wasn't driving.)

Unboxing September's CatLadyBox
The theme of September's CatLadyBox was Purrin' Patch...here's what was inside!
Featured Cat Lady Artist:
Leeza Hernandez
Purrin' Patch Tee:
It seems like every month lately I've been saying this is the cutest CLB shirt yet, and that's the case once again. The old truck, the cat riding in back with the pumpkins, the cat-themed menu and activities...adorable beyond words. Not to mention the fact the Purrin' Patch is dated Est. 2015 and I adopted Mudpie in 2015!
Cat Welcome Mat:
Can't wait to put this on my back step, but I plan to wait and use it in the spring.
(Photo courtesy of Amanda Flower, one of my favorite cozy mystery authors/cat ladies. I love how she used it outside one of her feral cat shelters.)
Meow & Go Tote:
I always use reusable totes when I go shopping so this will be added to my repertoire.
I especially love this one because the colors are so autumnal, the kitties resembling torties and calicos.
Cat Cookie Cutter:
'Tis the season for cat-shaped cookies!
Meowy Maple Leaf & Purrin' Spice Candle Catnip Toys:
Both toys are so adorably festive. As a Vermonter I especially love the maple leaf!
Interested in purchasing individual items from past boxes? You can do that too!
Disclosure: I receive a discount on my CatLadyBox subscription as a thank you for my monthly review. Regardless of compensation received, we only share information we feel is relevant to our readers.

1. I would love to find an easier way to dust. My house is filled with small items that collect dust, and I'm terribly allergic!
2. My October list includes finishing up my Halloween decorating, shopping for new Christmas decor and voting early.
3. I know better than to eat raw onion. Dad loves onion sandwiches, but they repeat on me for hours.
4. Hurting an animal should be illegal. Technically it is, but the penalties are nowhere near harsh enough.

Bell, Book and Corpses by T.C. LoTempio ~ Blog Tour with Book Review & Giveaway
It’s Halloween trick-or-treachery when murder pays a visit to a cursed mansion in the new Nick and Nora mystery . . .
Waincroft Manor has long been tied to rumors of witchcraft and fatal curses, and to Nora Charles, that makes it the perfect place for a Halloween fundraiser. But her first trip to the deserted old mansion turns out to be truly ghoulish when she discovers a dead body. What’s more, the corpse is laid out in a coffin—with two bite marks on its neck. Then the autopsy comes back showing that the body was drained of blood, and there’s no stopping the local gossips from whispering the word vampire to anyone who will listen.
Determined to dispel the rumors and save the fundraiser, Nora sets out to prove the murderer was quite human after all. Sifting through the clues, she learns of a bitter family rivalry that spans generations, and a more recent conflict that may point to the motive for the murder. And when Nick spells out a clue that proves to be the missing piece of the puzzle, Nora knows she’ll have to watch her back—because there’s a killer out there who wants to keep some secrets buried, and they’ll happily bury Nora right along with them . . .

Looking for the purrfect cozy to get into the Halloween spirit? Look no further than Bell, Book and Corpses. This 7th book in the Nick & Nora mystery series has it all - a creepy old mansion, rumors of witchcraft, curses, paranormal investigators, a dead body in a coffin, and vampires!
This story can easily be read as a standalone, but for newcomers to the series, Nick and Nora are a crime-solving team to be reckoned with. Nora runs the family sandwich shop, Hot Bread, while also working part-time for the online magazine Noir, where she writes about unsolved mysteries. Nick, a shining star among feline detectives, reveals key clues to Nora with the help of his favorite toy, Scrabble tiles.
Bell, Book and Corpses is chock full of twists and turns that kept me guessing until the very end. And the final reveal of what Nick was trying to tell Nora with his beloved Scrabble tiles put the biggest smile on my face! He is one brilliant, unique kitty (and could he be any more adorable on the cover?) Four paws up!

Her lifelong love of mysteries began early on when she was introduced to her first Nancy Drew mystery at age 10 – The Secret in the Old Attic. She and her cat pen the Nick and Nora mystery series originally from Berkley Prime Crime and now with Beyond the Page Publishing. They also write the Cat Rescue series from Crooked Lane and the Pet Shop series, originally published by Midnight Ink and rebranded last year as “Urban Tails Pet Shop Mysteries.” Book six in the Nick and Nora mysteries, A PURR BEFORE DYING, is released this February from Beyond the Page.
