Meows from Mudpie!
If I look disgruntled in my selfie this week it's for good reason.
Yesterday morning Mommy got up super early - on a Caturday no less! - to go to a family funeral. She said I had to snap my selfie right away because it would likely be getting dark before she got home. I was barely awake! I even chopped part of my face off because I was too sleepy to center the camera!
Mommy said something I found very rude too. She left some snacks out for my lunch, and I heard her joke to Grandpa that it's a good thing she never leaves me for 2 or 3 days with a bowl of kibble because I don't understand the concept of rationing and would eat the whole bowl the first day.
She's right, but she wasn't very nice to say it...

Mudpie, we can see why you were a little bit upset with your mommy. And that your picture didn't quite make it the way you want it. But we still think you're beautiful. Peepers used to spend the night at home alone on occasion. We would take off for maybe a long weekend and put out a big bowl of cat food. I am quite sure it took her exactly one day to eat 3 days worth.
Oooh, now that comment hurts. I am sure you would be OK kibble wise. MRs H has left a whole tub of food open and at my height and I just pick at it. Mrs H seldom leaves here these days unless it's for shopping or visiting the elderly in the village so I don't actually get left on my own much.

Given the situation, Mudpie, you have every right to be disgruntled. We cats do not like to be surprised and getting awakened early could get us in a bad mood all day. and that kibble comment. Wow! But we cants SOMETIMES have to learn to forgive and forget...we're sure you'll get some extra cuddling soon to make up for all this!

Well, Mudpie, we will admit you look a bit “purrturbed,” but still lovely. You are a smart kitty, and we bet you would only have to be left one time and eat all your noms immediately, to learn to ration yourself. And there is always grandpa to go begging to. Yeah, that was a pretty crude thing for your Mommy to say, Mudpie, but I'm afraid we may have to agree with her somewhat. Say, your expression looks an awful lot like mine pretty much all of the time if you ask mom or dad.

You took a good selfie, despite being abandoned and insulted. Mom will probably never leave us for more than a few hours - our feeding routine is too complicated with 3 cats, prescription diets, and kitties who all want to eat the food they're not supposed to eat!

And selfies in a hurry w/o any preparation can be...well, interestong!! Please for give your mom's comment, I guess she was worried about the funeral she was going to.
