Books,Cats...Life is good by Doris Redrupp
Books feed my mind. Cats feed my soul.
Welcome to my little corner of the blogosphere, a fusion of my two passions in life - books and cats. As a little girl in my playpen I had a cat in one corner and a stack of books in another. Over 30 years later those are still the two things I am always surrounded by...my bliss.
Currently my life is dedicated to the happiness and well-being of my beautiful tortoiseshell cat Truffles. While Mochas, Mysteries and Meows began in 2011 as predominantly a book blog, Truffles' predecessor Tara inspired me to further pursue my cat blogging aspirations. Call us a book blog with a very pet-centric twist, or a pet blog with literary flair! Nothing makes me happier than writing about my two favorite things in the world.
My favorite genres to read and review are cozy mysteries, paranormal (witches and ghosts!), animal-themed books (especially cats!) and Christmas stories. I read traditionally published books and indie/self pub work. I also like to host authors and others with guest posts, hold giveaways and participate in blog tours.
I adore animals of all kinds and am passionate about animal rescue. My other interests include NASCAR (Kevin Harvick), country music from the 70s and 80s (Conway Twitty), and I am addicted to the ID Investigation Discovery cable network. And coffee...preferably mochas. Especially peppermint mochas during the holiday season, my favorite time of year.
Mochas, Mysteries and Meows is for everyone who enjoys the cozy moments in life: curled up on the couch with a good book, a cat (or three) snuggled up with you, your warm beverage of choice nearby.
So whether you're mad about books, crazy about cats, or both (they just go together, don't they?), I hope you'll find something here that compels you to make Mochas, Mysteries and Meows a regular stop on your daily blog rounds!
I lost your blog! I was looking for the blog from my fellow New Englander, but couldn't remember the name. I thought I had subscribed but for some reason it didn't go through (I tried again today).
ReplyDeleteI just love the title of your blog, and the idea behind it....so cozy. I love to read and drink coffee (and of course love animals) so it really appeals to me.
I'll just have to forgive you for the Kevin Harvick thing....LOL. Matt Kenseth is my guy! Oh, and I love country music too so I guess we have a lot in common!

Always enjoy reading your blog!
ReplyDeleteYou are my kind of person, animal lover (cats in particular) and we like the same genres of books. Truffles and my 4 month old rescue kitty could be reflections in a mirror, their resemblance to each other is remarkable. Love your blog. :)
ReplyDeleteHi there, I followed the Blog Hop over and you are going to be the first cat blogger on my reading roster! I also have a cat, a 16 year old chat petite noir, but my blog focuses on my rambunctious new dog.
ReplyDeleteOMC! I love the ID channel as well! That, the History channel and PBS are all I watch on TV. Add coffee, mysteries, ghosts, and cats and that's me in a nutshell. So glad I found your blog!

Your blog is just adorable and I've added it to my Bloglovin' feed. I love your cat's name.
ReplyDeleteHave you connected with BlogPaws' member Amy Shojai? She writes mysteries, among other things. Hope you can make it to BlogPaws. And congratulations on being the January featured blogger. You've got talent.
ReplyDeleteWonderful! I'm so happy I found your blog (through "Cat Chat"). Books and cats top my list too!
ReplyDeleteTruffles is gorgeous, and I love her name!
Thanks for the great review! Also appreciate the awesome interview, Truffles!
ReplyDeleteIf you like cozy cat mysteries, please look at my new cat mystery, Black Cat's Legacy, on Amazon. Thumper, the Fern Lake lodge cat must help solve a cold case murder, but someone at the lodge will stop at nothing to prevent uncovering the old secrets. At home, we have four house cats, and one is names Truffles. She is a short hair tortie. Thumper, the hero in my novel, is a long-hair tuxedo cat.
ReplyDeleteMad about mysteries,love cats,love life!
ReplyDeleteYou are definitely a woman after my own heart. I love all the same things, though I prefer caramel machiotos
ReplyDeleteJust wanted to drop in and say I ADORE your blog :]
ReplyDeleteI am also extremely passionate about animals, although cats will always have my heart.
My mama cat had her litter a couple months ago and there are kitties everywhere now. (They are color point Siamese)
